This report came out recently by eMarketer, that Local Advertising is going to Surpass $151B in 2018

What I thought was interesting was the fact that direct mail will account for the largest portion of local advertising in 2018, with $38.5 billion devoted to that channel.  It’s amazing as we see people throwing away their mail all the time, but even with a 3% – 5% response rate, it’s a cost effective channel for marketers targeting consumers with a hyper local strategy
